the Gossip for Exclaim magazine
My first assignment for Exclaim magazine (Toronto), and I get to draw the band, The Gossip! I was only familiar of some of their tracks through listening to East Village Radio a few years back. But I had no idea what they looked like. Even though having Google at my fingertips, there are just so many bands these days...so anyways when I finally did I was pretty happy. So happy that I ended having a bit too much fun with it, by drawing 6 ideas. Their distinct looks just had my mind spewing out another idea, when I was about to hit 'send' to the art director. Yep this was definitely a fun one. I've included all my roughs here. The last one is the one that got published.
